Montana Trip…

Tomorrow I am taking off to Montana to train for 5 days with the Legendary Weightlifting Coach Steve Gough. He has trained numerous high level athletes with his own son still holding American Records in my weight class. He has held those records for about 12 years now. He also used to train one of the guys I looked up to the most, the late Jesse Marunde.

Another great coach is also up there – Mike Karchut. Mike is an amazing technique coach and was a 7x National Champion Weightlifter himself. It is a pretty awesome combination to say the least. I will also be training at Altitude Athletics which is run by Tyson Bradley. I am super excited for the trip and ready to hit some big ones!

I have had a bit of a training slump since nationals – only able to snatch 135 and clean and jerk 175 since. So, hopefully I can come back with at least 145/185, and anything higher than that a huge bonus. We will see…I am of course hoping for 155/195 but my mind is always thinking big #’s!

  1. “my mind is always thinking big #’s!” Awesome! A quote that I have heard which you might like: “The difference between the impossible and the possible lies in a person’s determination.” Unfortunately, I don’t know who said it. I look forward to reading about your trip!
