I took it a lot easier this week in training. My shoulder/elbow are pretty beat up, so I decided to do a LOT less volume on the snatch and clean&jerk. I hope to come back on monday feeling pretty fresh and recovered. And, READY TO ROCK! Woohoo! I got all kinds of energy already. Of course, every single ounce of that energy is going to go into squatting today. So, I might want to save it up. I am just going to squat today. Probably until I can’t stand up anymore. Haha sweet! I may do some reverse hyper/glute ham raise work as well. Who knows, maybe get some benching in. HA! Just kidding. I did that once this week already, I am not THAT crazy.
I also have set up a deal to work with a massage therapist 1x per week!! Oh boy, now we’re talking. In the next few days I am going to write a blog about what I all do for recovery (it seems to be a common question). The best part is, the massage therapist is AWESOME. She is a weightlifter herself. She was working on my shoulder a bit yesterday and I wanted to cry she was digging in so deep. That is the kind of massage I need haha. Perfect. Not to mention it’ll help loosen some of my really tight areas (lats, pecs, hip flexors, it bands). I am really looking forward to it!
