I did my first 5k today just for a workout. It was a tremendous workout to kick off the day. There was 2,000+ people racing which made it very difficult to pass, etc. I ended up with a time of 23:30. 2 months ago I bet it would have been about 40:00, and a year ago I guarantee I would had to give every ounce of energy to break an hour.
Later today will be some more weightlifting. Yesterday I power snatched 90kg for 3 sets of 2(90x3x2) and 95kgx3x2 as well. I wasn’t expecting to be able to do that much after dropping all the bodyweight.
My strength is starting to come back and I am getting more confident the more I train. My endurance has really started to get better, and although it isn’t anywhere near where I want it- it is a start. I think the power snatches were a bit of a breakthrough strength wise that I have been waiting for. Very excited right now to keep going and get back in “wrestling” shape.
